Education

Montana Repertory Theatre counts Education as one of its core values.  For hundreds of young people across the state of Montana, the Rep’s Educational OutReach production will be their first exposure to live theatre.  Additionally, Rep staff members and teaching artists are available to teach grade-appropriate theatre workshops.  For more information on getting the Rep into your school or community center, contact Teresa.Waldorf@umontana.edu.

The Bitterroot Lab

Montana Rep is committed to supporting innovative voices in American Theatre through new play residencies at The Bitteroot Lab.  Part writer’s retreat, part workshop, a residency at the Lab allows playwrights to work on new plays at any stage of development without the pressure of production, and while surrounded by the inspirational beauty of Montana.  The Lab is held three times a year, with one-week residencies available in March, May and October.

Community Ticket Grant

At the Rep, we believe that cost should never be a barrier to art.  Beginning with the 2019-2020 season, and for every show in the season, the Rep will donate a set number of tickets to local non-profits and community organizations that help underserved and underprivileged communities.  The organizations can then distribute those tickets to local Missoulians who might not otherwise be able to attend on their own.

If you’re a non-profit or community organization that is interested in taking part in our Community Ticket Grant, contact Salina Chatlain at Salina.Chatlain@montanarep.com

If you’d like to help us keep theatre free for people who can’t otherwise afford it by underwriting ticket costs, just click here.
