Montana Repertory Theatre invites self-identifying Indigenous visual artists to sign-up for the Can’t Drink Salt Water Art Show (opening February 14 at 7 PM, running through February 22). We also invite self-identifying Indigenous vendors to register for the Can’t Drink Salt Water Art Market (February 15 from 12-5 PM).


ABOUT THE ART SHOW
Artwork will exhibit during Montana Repertory Theatre's production of Can't Drink Salt Water, a new play by Missoula-based Indigenous (Lummi) playwright, Kendra Mylnechuk Potter, running February 14-22 in the Montana Theatre on the University of Montana Campus.

Artists are encouraged to submit up to 3 works, ready to hang. We are unable to exhibit non-hanging artwork.

Important dates:

Art Drop-off: Monday through Friday, February 2-6 and February 9-13, 9 AM to 4 PM (drop-off outside of these times is possible with prior communication) – at the Montana Repertory Theatre Office, PARTV Room 101 (in the lobby of the Montana Theatre, near the Adams Center on UM Campus)

Opening: Saturday, February 14, 7 PM, concurrent with the world premiere of Can't Drink Salt Water

Closing: Sunday, February 22

Art Return: Week of February 23-27 (we will coordinate with you, and deliver to your address!)

Artists who would like to sell their work are welcome to include a QR code to their Venmo, or supply their Venmo handle The Rep (which we can print and hang alongside). Sales will be handled by artists directly with the purchaser, as The Rep is unable to sell artwork in our capacity as the professional theatre-in-residence at the University of Montana.

This art call is open to self-identifying Indigenous artists only.


ABOUT THE ART MARKET
The Can't Drink Salt Water Indigenous Art Market will take place on Sunday, February 15 from noon to 5 PM (set-up begins at 10 AM), in the lobby of the Montana Theatre on the University of Montana campus. This market is part of the opening weekend for the full production of Can't Drink Salt Water, a new play by Missoula-based Indigenous (Lummi) playwright, Kendra Mylnechuk Potter. Register as a Vendor for the Indigenous Art Market

Vendors who participate in this market are also welcome to attend the show, whether the same day (we will have staff to watch over tables), or on a different day. Free tickets are available to any self-identifying Indigenous patrons, so vendors are encouraged to bring family and friends as well!

All vendors will receive payment of $50 for travel reimbursement. To receive payment, vendors will need to register through the University of Montana's payment system, which only takes a few minutes to file. We will reach out with instructions. Thank you again for sharing your artistry with us!

This Art Market Vendor Registration is open to self-identifying Indigenous artists and makers only.
